Although not Jesse Puljujärvi has been at his most effective in NHL arenas, he has garnered admiration for his performances off the field. On Halloween, the Bison King again showed off his biceps to others and cemented his status as one of the most entertaining personalities in the league.
NHL players showed off their scary and funny Halloween costumes over the weekend. Instead of superheroes and reality TV characters, Edmonton Oilers wizard Puljujärvi and his girlfriend dressed up as Disney’s hit movie Finding Nemo -characters.
Puljujärvi played a girl named Darla, who in the film treated fish donated by her dentist-uncle cruelly by shaking them to death in a water bag. Puljujärvi dressed up in the same way as the child figure who tortured the fish. She wears braces, a wig, a skirt and a shirt that says Rock n’ Roll Girl.
Puljujärvi’s girlfriend Monica Malinen plays the film’s main character, Nemo. The whole is finished with a plastic bag that causes cold shivers.
The popular Canadian hockey program BarDown declared Puljujärvi the “winner of Halloween”.

Puljujärvi has dominated with its Halloween costume before. A year ago, he dressed as a bison holding a crown, where the idea originated from the encounter between Puljujärvi and the bison in the fall of 2021. The quote “nice bison” presented by the Finn at the media conference is still remembered.
Films have also been a source of inspiration in Puljujärvi in previous years. He has also dressed up as Herra Ihme from the movie The Incredibles and Joaquin Phoenix to act as the Joker.
