The Edmonton Oilers traded earlier this week Jesse Puljujärvi24, to the Carolina Hurricanes.

The trade took place on Tuesday, but the Finnish forward was seen in the Oilers’ home arena wearing Edmonton’s training gear on Friday morning local time.

TSN reporter Ryan Rishaug published a video on his Twitter account in which Puljujärvi curves on the ice of Roger’s Arena.

– Look who is still on the ice this morning wearing Oilers gear, Rishaug wrote alongside his publication.

Dear journalist Pierre LeBrun said that Puljujärvi is waiting for a work permit.

– Puljujärvi has a meeting on Monday to get a work permit and will join the ranks of the Hurricanes on Tuesday in Montreal.

Puljujärvi needs a work permit for the United States. He has played in Canada, and the country’s work visa is not valid in the United States.

This means that Puljujärvi will debut in the Hurricanes jersey only next week.

Puljujärvi got the transfer he wanted, because he lost his confidence in the Oilers.

The Finn got several opportunities alongside Connor McDavid, but at no point did he fully live up to the expectations placed on him.

Puljujärvi became sensitive when he heard about the trade from Oilers GM Ken Holland.

– I went to the hall as usual in the morning. Our general manager was there and asked to his office and told that the deal has taken place, Puljujärvi told Iltalehte.

– I have been here for six years. The whole team was there when the training was about to start. I got to say goodbye to everyone, that was important to me. The feelings did come to the surface.

This season, Puljujärvi played 58 regular season games in the Oilers outfit with 5+9.
