Jesperi Kotkaniemi and Teuvo Teräväinenthe Carolina Hurricanes’ second basemen, scored a really nice hit on the Tampa Bay Lightning’s net at the end of the opening set.
Kotkaniemi served a delayed cross pass to Teräväinen, who calmly took possession of the puck, looked for a moment Andrei Vasilevsky cover attempt in the front corner and tapped in through the crossbar.
In the second set, we saw at least as beautiful a composition – and again Teräväinen was the decider.
Kotkaniemi served a cross pass To Martin Necas, who continued directly to Teräväinen, who swam to the corner of the goal. This time, the painting job only required a small, controlled push.
Kotkaniemi roared to the end of the second set with his third assist point. The scorer was Shayne Gostisbeherethe team’s fresh pack reinforcement.
Teräväinen crowned his evening in the final set. Vasilevski parried Gostisbehere’s shot directly to Teräväinen, who lifted the puck into the net with sharp coolness.
Kotkaniemi registered his fourth assist point from the hit.
Kotkaniemi’s miraculous Sunday was crowned with another goal, when the Hurricanes were able to rub a 5-3 advantage at the end of the match. Skillful control by Brent Burns Vasilevskiy missed the passing shot.
Hedman was injured
Lightning was really badly underpowered throughout the match. In the second period, the Hurricanes keeper Frederik Andersen didn’t have to fight back even once.
A firestorm would be significantly harsher than a loss by Victor Hedman injury. Hedman fell Andrei Svetshnikov as a result of a tackle and slid to the side.
Hedman held his lower back and left the booth. He did not return to the game.
