It won’t be long before Jesper Karlsson can call himself a Bologna player. The Sweden international has arrived in Italy for his medical and will sign a five-year contract. AZ is reportedly going to receive 11 million euros for the wing attacker.
It was no secret that Karlsson wanted to take the next step in his career. In the past, the 25-year-old attacker has already been linked to clubs such as Napoli, Bournemouth, Celta de Vigo and Lazio.
In recent weeks, Karlsson has been missing from the AZ selection due to a hamstring injury. According to AZ coach Pascal Jansen, Karlsson was treated for the injury in Belgium. Last Sunday in AZ’s 1-3 victory at RKC Karlsson was not included in the selection.
Karlsson came over from the Swedish IF Elfsborg in the summer of 2020 for 2.6 million euros. In his three years in Alkmaar he played 124 games and scored 46 times. Karlsson arrives at Bologna Sam Beukema, among others, against who also left AZ for the Serie A club this summer.
