Darderi turned out to be the most stable of the two in the decisive third set. The number 55 in the world ranking managed to break the Dutch number 106 twice and held up on his own service. It meant the third ATP title for Darderi. In March of this year he defeated Tallon Griekspoor in the final of Marrakesh.
De Jong earned 52,890 euros with his lost final. “I started very well today, but then he started his motorbikes. He brings so much energy. He deserved to win,” De Jong said on the track afterwards. “It was one of the best weeks of my life. I hope that more of such weeks will follow.”
