Hard statements against Jérôme Boateng (34, Olympique Lyon)! The ex-national player is currently in the appeal process before the Munich I Regional Court. The charge: assault. Boateng is said to have hit his ex-girlfriend. In the witness stand, the woman repeated the massive allegations against the World Cup hero.
Boateng threw a lantern at her during an argument during a vacation in the Caribbean in July 2018, but missed her. He also threw a cooler with cans at her. “I was hit in the back, I was in pain, I was short of breath.”
She also reported on the witness stand about attacks that followed shortly afterwards. “I know him, I knew that that wouldn’t be enough for him.” She speaks of a hair pull, a bite in the head.
Boateng put his thumb in her eye with force and threw her to the ground. And he hit her with his fist. “He punched me in the kidney.” Boateng injured his lip on his bracelet. “He also spat his blood in my face.”
And she also hinted that it wasn’t the first attack of this kind in the relationship. Boateng and his ex have known each other since 2007 and have two children together. “I already know these attacks. There has been a lot of physical abuse.”
And further: “Our relationship was toxic, there was violence. I was used to it already.” She only filed a complaint three months later.
The presiding judge wanted to know from her: “Why so late?” Boateng’s ex: “It was a difficult decision, we have children together. I wanted to avoid it. I also thought about what it would mean for him in his position.”
But in autumn 2018 there was another attack. “We were already separated by then. He came to me again, spat on me (…)”
The verdict is due on Friday (October 21, 2022).
