Jeroen Vandromme succeeds Joris Hindryckx as mayor of Houthulst
Jeroen Vandromme (44) will take over as the new mayor from Friday and will complete the remaining 15 months of the term of office. “We will go to the voters with a strong list and hopefully the voters will let us continue to govern Houthulst. If the voters want it, I will be happy to fill the role of mayor again,” he says.
Scheduled substitution
In the last municipal elections, he and outgoing mayor Joris Hindryckx had almost the same number of votes. The change was planned at the start of the legislature.
Vandromme has been alderman in Houthulst for ten years. Until now he was first alderman, responsible for Leisure, Informatics and Civil Registry.
Joris Hindryckx will now continue to focus on his role as director of VIVES University of Applied Sciences and will become first alderman of Houthulst, responsible for Finance, Municipal Development, Church Factories and Jubilees.
