SBS 6 breathes a sigh of relief: the new Saturday evening with Jeroen van der Boom and Rachel Hazes has finally come to an end. They leave a huge blow to this broadcast evening.
Over the past five weeks, Jeroen van der Boom has single-handedly ensured that virtually nothing is left of the Saturday evening of SBS 6. His programs Hazes is de Basis and Hoge Bomen scored so badly that it is just painful. And yesterday, the shows also closed with the lowest ratings of the entire series.
Low Records
Hazes is de Basis managed to captivate no more than 256 thousand viewers (5% market share) with the last episode and Hoge Bomen did not reach more than 206 thousand viewers (4%). It is no surprise that a program with Rachel Hazes scores so poorly, but Hoge Bomen was a success in previous seasons.
This season only the first episode with Frans Bauer was a hit (897 thousand viewers), but after that the viewing figures collapsed. After Najib Amhali (386 thousand), Ronald Koeman (444 thousand) and Sonja Bakker (307 thousand), it was Maarten van der Weijden’s turn yesterday. It seems that the viewer is more than tired of Jeroen’s celebrity slime.
Next week, SBS 6 will start on Saturday evening with the combination Code van Coppens and Impossible Duets.
Football on one
The winner of the TV evening yesterday was the friendly football match Netherlands – Denmark with 2.1 million viewers (42%) on NPO 1. With this, the channel attracted a fraction less viewers than Heel Holland Bakt did at the same time in recent weeks.
The silver is for RTL 4: the Beau van Erven Dorens show Weet Ik Veel scored 995 thousand viewers (20%) and VriendenLoterij Miljonairs subsequently had 700 thousand (15%). NPO 2 also attracted the most attention, namely with Hidden Past (695 thousand) and Nieuwsuur (518 thousand).
Big Brother
The Big Brother 2022 grand finale passed just about everyone. The final broadcast yesterday attracted only 295 thousand viewers (6% market share) to RTL 5. That is slightly more than the regular episodes; which attracted an average of 240,000 viewers this week. These are all very low scores for such an expensive program.
The new Big Brother season started 84 days ago, on December 31, with eight residents. “The experiment became more unpredictable, more exciting and scarcer than ever,” RTL says. And it all came with lower ratings than ever. A return therefore seems out of the question.
Viewing figures
Programs that (also) did not reach the top fifteen viewing figures include Shownieuws (427 thousand), Winter Time (365 thousand) and Lachen om home videos (292 thousand).
