Jeroen Pauw literally has to be flown in to save Khalid & Sophie, because he is still in Curaçao. Critics think it’s worth the early flight. “Luckily no Tim Hofman!”
The decision has been made: Khalid Kasem will be replaced by Jeroen Pauw in the talk show Khalid & Sophie now that he has been seriously discredited due to his misconduct as a lawyer. The program will continue as Sophie & Jeroen for the time being. “I read it and thought: oh yes, that is actually the best alternative,” says Volkskrant journalist Alex Mazereeuw in RTL Boulevard.
Peacock flying in
Tina Nijkamp, our country’s ratings authority, thinks it is a good plan. “I was actually surprised that Jeroen will take Khalid’s place. I actually expected Sophie to do it alone. She only has a few months left and Matthijs just did it five days a week.”
Such an established name will do very well on that talk show after that mega riot, Alex thinks. “I think you also bring back a kind of peace by flying in Jeroen Pauw.”
Still in Curaçao
Jeroen literally has to be flown in, because he is currently wintering in Curaçao. “Normally he would be there longer,” it reports A.D. “But he has now brought forward his return flight. The first zoom meeting and phone calls are already over.”
