Jeroen Pauw completely explodes in last interview of 2023: ‘T*ring mess!’

Jeroen Pauw goes all out in his last interview of the year, namely with Trouw. It is evident that the presenter is well done with the NPO. “What a huge t*ring mess!”

The talk show Op1 is going off the air and the announcement did not go well: the presenters had to find out from the media. It also came as a surprise to Jeroen Pauw, who is involved as a producer. The program must make way for Khalid & Sophie, which in turn must make way for Eva Jinek.

‘T*ring mess!’

Jeroen consciously does not reveal the back of his tongue and that costs him effort, as can be read in Fidelity. “There are all kinds of things happening at the Public Broadcasting Service that are linked to lies and scheming. That t*ring mess at Op1, for example: I would really like to tell you on the record what is wrong with that story.”

But he doesn’t. “If I do that as an employee of the producer of Op1, I will make all kinds of people angry and the broadcasters will ask another company to make programs for them next year.”

Misconception

The production company TVBV, founded by Jeroen, produces Op1. “The biggest misconception in the description ‘independent television producer’ is the word independent. TVBV, like other production companies, is extremely dependent on its clients.”

He concludes: “And the crazy thing is: we get criticized by people who are dissatisfied with products that they themselves wanted to have made that way. As a talk show host I could – to quote Fortuyn – say what I thought and do what I said. I don’t like the fact that I have lost that freedom at all.”

Well, that’s a relief, just before New Year’s Eve.

Mediacourant wishes you a fantastic 2024! 🎇
