There are new findings on Jeremy Renner’s accident, in which he sustained numerous broken bones: The serious accident occurred on January 1, 2023, when the Marvel actor was trying to save his nephew. His snowmobile was out of control and rolling straight toward the grown boy. The 52-year-old attempted to climb back up to intervene. He fell under the chain of the snow plow. The seven-ton caterpillar caught and rolled over him. Renner was flown to a nearby hospital by helicopter and underwent multiple operations, which revealed around 30 broken bones. In the meantime he has been allowed to leave the hospital and is back with his family.
An official police report now reveals details of the accident. According to him, after the nephew’s car was freed, the snow plow began to move uncontrollably. Renner then jumped off reflexively, but did not apply the emergency brake. He then saw the snowmobile slide right towards his nephew, after which he made an attempt to regain control of the vehicle. In doing so, he had an accident. His nephew survived the incident unharmed and immediately provided first aid.
According to the report, the vehicle’s brakes were not applied when it began to move. However, the indicator light, which is supposed to show whether the brake is switched on, is faulty.
The “Hawkeye” actor has been keeping his fans up to date on Instagram since the incident. He describes that his healing is making relatively good progress. He’s also promoting the second season of his series Mayor of Kingstown, now out on Paramount+.
