Alavieska’s Virin Murto raced the 400-gram javelin to 64.88 meters in Pajulahti. Helander’s record score was 61.71.

In Pajulahti, the stick flew perfectly. Also Emilia Karel, 14, threw the javelin exactly 54 meters. The result is the best ever in the 20-year-old league in Finland.

Kristiina Mäkelä opened his reign in Karlsruhe, Germany. Immediately in the opening race, there was a jump of over 14 meters, exactly 14.02. With his result, Mäkelä was fifth in the triple jump competition. Cuba won Liadagmis Poveawho jumped his personal record, at the same time the world’s top result of 14.64.

Mäkelä’s best jump came in the second round. In addition, the results 13.54, 13.78, 13.72, 13.90 and 13.68 were recorded in the minutes.

– This turned out to be a good exercise. These were the first full-speed jumps after the summer and Kristiina had to get a feel for the full-speed jump and the springboard at the same time, said Mäkelä’s coach Tuomas Sallinen in SUL’s bulletin.

– The exercises have gone well and speed jumps have been done, but there are still too few jumps. Now this will be a good training period before the next competition, which is just over two weeks away.
