The name of the Masters in the Arena tour became known as early as the 1990s, when Hector, Pepe Willberg and already deceased Kirka and Pave Maijanen toured Finland. Now the name will be re-enabled when Jenni Vartiainen, Kaija Koo, Vesala and Ellinoora go out together for a concert tour.
Vartiainen states in a Warner Music Live release that he is looking forward to returning to the stage after a four-year break.
– I can’t wait to get back, especially with this lineup! I really appreciate and admire these three inspiring artists. We are doing and experiencing something very special, so this is not to be missed, Vartiainen says.
Kaija Koo, on the other hand, is delighted that Finnish music superwomen will be able to perform together.
– The realization of this long-term dream feels incredible and gets confused by the expectation. We have all had our own strong and personal careers over the years. You can only imagine the glory of music we will hear on the upcoming concert tour! Kaija Koo states in the press release.
Vesala also says that he is going to give concerts together with his colleagues.
– I have admired the careers and skills of these artists – the honor of singing with them. I’m really looking forward to the gigs together, which are going to be insanely great! The outline meetings on the set list have been some of the funniest long-distance games I’ve been to, Vesala says.
Ellinoora says the Masters in the Arena tour has been prepared for a long time.
– It is an honor to sing on the same stage as the artists I have admired from an early age. I feel that the Masters Arena has a special experience for both the audience and the performers, and this line-up also paints a symbolic image: determined women who go their own way and make music that looks like themselves are masters, Ellinoora sums up.
The arena gigs of the Masters in the Arena tour will be seen in late autumn 2022 in Espoo, Vaasa, Turku, Kuopio, Oulu and Tampere.
