Jenni Haukio reveals whether she will miss moments from her and her husband Sauli Niinistö’s presidential terms.

The president of the Republic Sauli Niinistö75, and his wife Jenni Haukio, 46, will soon move out of the president’s official residence. Niinistö’s presidential term ends in 2024, when a new head of state is elected for Finland.
Haukio says in his column in Seura, that he is often asked how he feels about leaving a way of life that has been part of the duo’s everyday life for 11 years. Now he answers that question.
– My superficial feeling is deep gratitude for everything that I have been able to experience in my unique position as the spouse of the President of the Republic, the doctor begins.
– I have been able to experience and receive so much and so much that it would seem selfish to miss the past and yearn for the phase of life that is about to reach its full extent, he adds.

Among other things, Haukio is happy that he has been able to represent Finland in almost 30 different countries and gives his own voice and work contribution for issues and values close to him. The doctor feels that he cannot think with longing about the moments that will remain alive in his mind.
– You feel longing when your thoughts are on what you are losing. Joy and gratitude, on the other hand, when you focus on everything you have been a part of, he states.
About a week ago, Haukio was at the New York City Library, where the doctor presented Finnish literature to the local audience.
