Jenna Laukkanen feels that the Finnish Swimming Federation underestimates her abilities.
Jussi Eskola
European swimming champion Jenna Laukkanen27, criticized the Finnish Swimming Federation and the national swimming team on his Instagram account.
Laukkanen was selected earlier this week for the Nordic championships, which will be held from 10 to 12. December in Norway. The multiple medalist did not like the decision, as he still has a chance to reach the 13th-18th. to the World Short Course Championships held in December.
The last chance to break the WC limit is in the next weekend’s games.
– I was asked a couple of weeks ago if I would be available for the PM championships if I didn’t break the WC limit. I answered that absolutely, if the World Cup limit is not broken, says Laukkanen in the Stories section of Instagram.
– The fact that the PM race selection was published before the World Cup time window closed seems a bit like an alliance for such… A little middle finger pointing.
The swimmer feels the action of the association as an underestimation of his abilities, although he admits that the season has not been the best possible.
– It still doesn’t rule out that I still have a chance to break the WC limit. I get the feeling that the union no longer trusts me. It is a hurtful feeling to get ahead of things before the other door has closed.
“Feels bad”

Laukkanen is happy to go to the PM Games, but feels that Uimaliito’s timing was wrong.
– I think it is wrong that I and others are allowed to assume that I would have been denied the opportunity to try for the WC limits in the weekend’s games. Feels bad.
– I thought for a long time whether I should talk about this. I thought nothing would change if I didn’t speak up.
Laukkanen won the 50 and 100 meter breaststroke European championships at the 2015 short course World Championships. There are also two European short track silver and two bronze medals in the trophy case.
In the long course competitions, the Finnish swimmer has won the EC bronze in the 50-meter breaststroke and the relay bronze.
The Nordic swimming championships will be held on the 10th–12th. in Bergen, Norway. The World Short Track Championships are held in Melbourne, Australia.
