The New Year’s celebration at Kansalaistor took a surprising turn due to the rocket incident.
The New Year’s celebration at Kansalaistor took a surprising turn on Sunday evening. Cha Cha Cha rang out in the dark evening, and in between Wrapper in the audience of the concert, rockets were fired into the sky from a group of men. Iltalehti got a video of the situation, which shows how a young man is holding a rocket and the fireworks are in full swing.
Been there Jenni Marika Hämäläinen describes how the concert audience quickly surrounded the group of men. He himself really freaked out about the situation, because at first he thought his 17-year-old son had been hit in the eye by a rocket.
– I noticed that rockets are coming from the wrong direction and the rocket fragments are raining down on me. My son kept his eyes closed, I thought he got a rocket in his eye. Fortunately, he was only exposed to the smoke from the firing of the rockets, and he has asthma. The situation was oppressive, Hämäläinen describes to Iltalehte.
He says he shot another video, which clearly shows how one member of the group placed a rocket on the ground. When the people noticed the situation, the crowd gathered around them.
– After all, there was a ban on bringing rockets into the area. Soon after, a warning was announced on stage. That was pretty cool!
The protester who rushed in front of the wrapper, and whose behavior also disturbed the course of the evening, passed by Hämäläise, because there was so much going on in the audience.
He himself left the place with his son shortly after that and admits that the gig was partly ruined because of the incident.

Hämäläinen followed the gig near the stage. According to him, the atmosphere was uneasy during the concert even before the rocket incident. The same group attracted attention with their behavior before digging up the rockets.
– There was some jostling at the gig before and it felt like it was going to fall. When Bess brought rainbow flags on stage, these same young men booed loudly. It didn’t feel good!
According to Hämäläinen, the men fooling around with the rockets also asked other people at the gig to take Snapchat videos of themselves. He has a strong message for those trekkers.
– Don’t bring rockets into the middle of the audience! There were small children in the crowd. It was scary that if a small child gets a rocket in his eye.
Hämäläinen didn’t just have a bad feeling from New Year’s Eve.
– Käärijä’s gig was great, he praises.
