Jean-Claude Van Damme’s sister gets a rolling pin in the face, ex risks six years in prison for attempted murder: “He killed the woman I was at the time” | Inland

Frédéric C. has had to answer to the criminal court of Hainaut because he is accused of an attempted murder of the sister of film star Jean-Claude Van Damme. He faces a six-year prison sentence. “He killed the woman I was at the time,” it sounds from her mouth.

Véronique Van Varenberg got to know C. through Facebook and the two got into a relationship. When she discovered that he was mainly interested in her brother’s fame and money, she ended the relationship after four years.

That was not to C.’s liking and in March 2017 he visited her in Knokke. The two got into an argument and the man hit Van Varenberg in the face with a rolling pin. The blow was so violent that one of the handles gave way.

30,000 euros stolen

The woman’s skull turned out to be badly hit, she fell down bleeding. Finally, C. accompanied her to the emergency room in the hospital. It later turned out that he also stole 30,000 euros.

However, Van Varenberg would not immediately file a complaint. She initially stated that she had fallen against the edge of a piece of furniture. Doctors did not believe much of her statement, but that way she put her ex out of the wind.

Six months later, the woman still took the step to court. She had then confessed the truth to some friends. They were worried because they no longer recognized her.

“Am not the same anymore”

“I’m not the same anymore. He killed the woman I was then. I barely go out and I now suffer from serious mental disorders. It is torture to have to go back to the facts that will haunt me forever,” said Van Varenberg.

The case came up for the first time today. C. himself was not present during the hearing. He faces six years in prison. The verdict will follow on April 28.
