JD Sports opens largest German flagship store in Munich

The British sporting goods provider JD Sports plans to move into a new location in Munich this year.

The flagship store at Kaufingerstraße 18, with a total area of around 2,700 square meters, will be the retail chain’s largest branch in Germany and the second largest in Europe, the real estate company Storescouts announced on Tuesday. The opening is therefore planned for the fourth quarter.

According to Storescouts, JD Sports is moving into premises on the centrally located street, which is one of the busiest shopping streets in the country, which previously housed a branch of the Swedish clothing retailer H&M. Following “extensive renovation and expansion measures” by the owner of the property, the British want to use three floors there as sales space in the future.
