JD Sports: CFO Neil Greenhalgh announces farewell

The British retail group JD Sports Fashion Plc has to look for a new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The current chief financial officer, Neil Greenhalgh, has informed the board of directors that he intends to step down from his post next year, the company said on Wednesday.

However, before he leaves, he will be involved with the management and the auditor KPMG LLP in the preparation and publication of the annual report for the current year 2022/23, which is to be presented next spring, according to a statement. Greenhalgh is also involved in the search for his successor to ensure a smooth transition.

The financial expert joined JD Sports in 2004 and was promoted from Group Finance Director to Group CFO in early November 2018. Chairman Andy Higginson paid tribute to the outgoing manager in a statement as a “key member of the team that has ensured the company’s enormous growth” and thanked him on behalf of the Board of Directors for his “constructive attitude” which enabled the group to achieve the “best possible to find and train successors.
