Javier Imbroda dies at the age of 61

The Minister of Education of the Junta de Andalucía, Javier Imbroda, has died this Sunday at the age of 61, a victim of prostate cancer that was diagnosed in 2017. A disease that has been treated for the last five years but that he has not been able to finally overcome and has ended his life.

He was born in Melilla in 1961, although he soon moved to Malaga, the city that has marked his life and in which he achieved a fruitful educational and sports career, being a coach of elite basketball, which made him a benchmark in the sport of the basket throughout Spain. Not in vain, he was a coach of the Maristas, Unicaja, Caja San Fernando, Real Madrid… and national coach. In fact, in the last Copa del Rey held in Granada this past February, Imbroda received an emotional tribute and recognition from the ACB League for his long career.
