MTV news today how the actor Jasper Pääkkönen is in the middle of a legal dispute. The parties to the dispute are Pääkkönen and a Finnish company that sells underwear.

According to information received by MTV, in 2018 Pääkkönen’s company signed a brand ambassador agreement with Lähde Oy, which sells under the name The Other Danish Guy -brand men’s underwear.

According to the challenge application, Pääkkönen had participated in the podcast of the CEO of Lähde Oy, in connection with which pictures would be taken to be published on the website in connection with the podcast. However, in the photography situation, it became clear that the pictures are to be used for the purpose of marketing the underwear.

According to MTV’s information, Pääkkönen had found out weeks later that the photo and video materials taken of him were used in large-scale television, radio and online advertising. The actor emphasizes that the underwear company had no right to use his name in marketing, as he had only participated in the recordings of the podcast.

In the challenge application, Pääkkönen states that he is one of the most famous actors in Finland, who also has international visibility. He cites how he has the exclusive right to dictate in what context his name, images or voice is used, which is not entitled by the brand ambassador contract. He demands damages of 300,000 euros from the company as a return of an unjustified advantage.

According to MTV, the company disputes Pääkkönen’s right to compensation.
