Jason Momoa apologizes for sightseeing photos from the Sistine Chapel

Jason Momoa has caused trouble with sightseeing photos from Vatican City. The actor, known for his role as Aquaman, among other things, posted photos and videos on Instagram of a visit to the Sistine Chapel and the many world-famous works of art exhibited in it. The problem: Photographing the works of art is actually strictly forbidden. So there was a lot of criticism under the post. Many felt it was unfair that Jason Momoa, because of his fame, was allowed to photograph the artworks in the Sistine Chapel while other visitors to the Vatican City Chapel, built between 1475 and 1483, would have to comply with the ban.

Now Momoa has apologized for the photos and videos in another Instagram post. A video shows him doing shirtless training and lifting dumbbells. Then he stops training and speaks sweaty into the camera: “If you thought I didn’t respect your culture, that wasn’t my intention.” He emphasizes that he had previously obtained permission for the photos and did not want to offend anyone . The video has already been viewed over three million times.

Jason Momoa was recently in Italy filming Fast & Furios 10. Not too much is known about the tenth film in the street racing series. It is said to be the penultimate contribution in the series and to be closely linked to “Fast & Furios 11” in terms of content. “Fast & Furios 10” should probably hit the cinemas in spring 2023. After the actual director Justin Lin left the project a few days after the start of shooting due to “creative differences” with parts of the production crew, Frenchman Louis Leterrier is now directing. Leterrier’s directing credits include The Incredible Hulk (2018) and Now You See Me (2013).
