The plot of Marcel!

The story draws on the actress’s personal experience: that of a little girl who loves her mother. And her mother loves Marcel, her dog. This intertwining is at the base of the construction of the whole affair. Because an unpredictable event will bring the two women on a journey, pushing them to get closer and to rediscover the geography of their love.

Jasmine Trinca: “A fabulous reworking of the experience”

Presenting his first work as a director, Jasmine he explained precisely that «all this starts from a photograph. It depicted my mother holding my hand on the edge of a wood. Behind us a sunny landscape, but in front of us? The color of that photo I would have defined the color of memory. Not nostalgia, like a sepia-toned color photo, but an indefinable and nuanced color, burnt by the sun, just crossed and inspired by the “dark forest” ready to welcome and protect that two-way step“.

“Marcel!”. (Fabio Zayed)

It’s still: “Between dream and reality. This is where this film is located. A fairytale or rather fabulous reworking of the experience, trying to understand it, exorcise it, make it universal. Dirty clothes that are not washed at home but that become flags to be waved, programmatic hymns: “Life is due to art”. After all, all that experience, that heavy baggage impossible to leave, will also have served some purpose. To make a movie. But no. Nothing is more important and ephemeral than living. Not even a film that remains (or maybe not). Life is therefore owed to life“.
