Just over two weeks ago, he turned 50 and still plays in the Czech Extra League Jaromir Jagr wants to help Ukrainians who have been the target of criminal warfare in Russia.

Jagr owns Rytiri Kladno, who plays in the Extra League and ranks himself.

Now Jagr wants to move the last match of Kladno’s regular season against Sparta Prague to Prague’s lavish O2 Arena. Jagr hopes the arena, which draws 17,360 spectators, will be sold out next Tuesday when Kladno meets Sparta in Prague.

The Kladno home hall can only accommodate 5,200 spectators.

Income for Ukrainians

Jagri intends to donate the proceeds of the match to help Ukrainian mothers and children who have fled their lives in Ukraine and sought asylum in the Czech Republic.

– I called the owner of Sparta Karl Prazakille and the director of the O2 Arena Robert Schafferille. Both agreed on this idea, and it pleased me greatly, Jagr told ISport.

– If it succeeds, I hope that as many people as possible will arrive. You can enjoy great hockey, but most importantly, it can help a good thing. The transfer of the match is not yet official but I think it will be successful, the most famous athlete in the Czech Republic said.

1968 is not forgotten

Tuesday’s game is Kladno’s last match in the regular season. After that, Jagr and the partners are waiting to see which club will face in the qualifiers for the Extra League place.

Jagr have scored 19 (8 + 11) power points in 40 matches this season.

Jagr has actually played throughout his career at number 68. The number refers to 1968 and the Soviet occupation of Czechoslovakia.
