Former coach of the Finnish national skiing team Jarmo Riski makes a return to coaching. He joins the coaching stable Electrofit, which trains professional skiers and fitness enthusiasts.

Risk has a comprehensive resume in coaching. Among those he has coached have been successful in value competitions Virpi Sarasvuo, Aino-Kaisa Saarinen and Sami Jauhojärvi.

In October, the hard class coach was at Electrofit’s fitness camp in Ramsau, which was also attended by competitive skiers, such as Lauri Lepistö and Wiljam Mattila.

– The development and joy of those I coach motivate me, and there are no small nuances in whether I coach top athletes or fitness people, Riski says in the press release.

The coach also takes responsibility for the development of his workplace and coaching guidelines. Those he coaches compete in the Ski Classic series, where only long distances are skied. The skiing season includes, among other things, Sweden’s famous event Vasaloppet.

– I want to teach people that progress can be made with small things when you do things systematically. There are no quick wins in this sport.

The risk is also remembered from the infamous 2001 Lahti doping scandal. He was the coach of the Finnish team at the time and was fired by the Finnish Skiing Federation after the scandal and was banned for life as an official, which was finally revoked in 2004. The international skiing federation Fis sentenced him to a ban that lasted until 2015.
