Head coach of Veikkausliiga team FC Inter Jarkko Wiss has been fired, club report.
MTV’s according to Wiss, 51, has harassed a female employee of the Turku club at the end of the season party.
MTV says that other partygoers reported that Wiss spoke to the woman in a sexual manner throughout the evening. He had asked her to sit on his lap and grabbed her hand when she tried to move away from him.
– The head coach has an important position in the club as an example of activities in accordance with the world of values. We did not feel the values of the club represented by the current head coach. The decision has been made as a result of a thorough investigation process, Inter’s board chairman Nikolas Håkans commented on the firings in the club’s press release.
The end of the season party was held at Inter’s home stadium on October 27.
Wiss started as Inter’s head coach at the beginning of the 2023 season. His contract would have covered next season as well.
Previously, Wiss coached Tampere’s Ilves in the Veikkausliiga. During his playing career, he represented Finland in 45 A national matches.
