Jarkko Tamminen is open about his challenges combining work and family life: “It’s a bad conscience”

Jarkko Tamminen tells Iltalehte about his daughters’ special wish when he spends time with them.

One of the most famous imitators in Finland Jarkko Tamminen, 46, has been busy working on his dream. Recently, the actor has dressed up in more than 100 of his imitation characters so that they could conquer the hearts of Finns in the autumn Jarkko Tamminen’s world in the program.

Tamminen admits to Iltalehti that it has not been easy to combine the work pace of a busy entertainer with a family routine. The imitator has Sanna Tamminen with 9- and 14-year-old daughters. Since Tamminen’s work is not scheduled during typical office hours, it has had to be adjusted a bit into the family schedule.

– Of course, I am grateful to my wife Sanna, who has taken the main responsibility for running the home and taking the girls to hobbies. I have always been involved in everything to the best of my ability and within the schedule, he tells Iltalehte at the press conference for MTV’s early autumn programs.

– Sometimes it’s busier, which makes you feel bad about not spending as much time with your family. Fortunately, there is an understanding spouse and sometimes there is also an opportunity to give back, for example by stating that “just go to Ruisrock, and I will stay home with the children”, he adds.

The impersonator openly says that in the past he may not have realized in the middle of the rush that he spent more time at work than with his family.

– Of course, there have been situations over the years when we have discussed that we have to find enough time for the family as well. I use the term “should” because of course I’ve been so excited about something like this that I don’t really notice these things at that point. At such times, someone sometimes needs to wake up and say, “hey, we’re here too”, Tamminen opens.

– Sometimes there are episodes like that, but I have taken care of the principle that, for example, vacations are sacred time for the family. Yes, there is that time together, he emphasizes.

When the father spends time with his daughters, they don’t want him to bring his characters home.

– I would like to present something, but they force me to be myself. If I start imitating anything, they say “speak in your own voice”. They don’t want to see any character at home. They will gladly come to see my shows, he laughs.
