Japan wants to send its first wooden satellite into space: a biodegradable alternative to combat space waste

Japan expects to be the first to send a wooden satellite into space this summer. The LingoSat probe is barely ten centimeters high and must float around the Earth for six months. Japanese researchers from Kyoto University will observe the satellite all the while. They hope for positive results because wood could be the solution in the fight against space waste.
