Janni Hussi had to face the realities of his own coping skills last winter.

Host Janni Hussi tells in his podcast Word is free from his heavy work exhaustion. Hussi has already spoken publicly earlier this year about his work exhaustion and that he should prioritize his own ability to cope at the moment and cut back on work tasks.
However, the podcast episode published on Thursday is exceptionally open, and Hussi tells a rougher version of the truth.
– What was the last factor for me that made me make the decision that now I have to hit the brakes… Huh, Hussi bursts into tears.
– It’s a really hard place when your friends really intervene for you. My friends did it to me at the beginning of the year, Hussi tells his co-host Sointu Borg in a quivering voice.
Hussi says that at the time of the intervention, he was in the deepest hole with his exhaustion. In the winter, he was alone on a cabin holiday in Tahko, which his friends felt was a good environment and time for an intervention.
– Really freaking honestly went through the fact that they don’t recognize me anymore. This is not the Janni whose friends and friends we have really been. You haven’t been in years. You are never seen, never heard from. Then when they see you, you just stare at the wall, Hussi says and admits that even meeting friends seemed burdensome to him at that time.
According to Huss, his partner Joel Harkimo and his parents also agreed on the matter. The intervention brought Huss down to reality and he realized that he does not want to sacrifice his family, friends and well-being for work. Hussi already made a preliminary phone call from Tahko to his employer, in which he said he was retiring from his job.
Hard work made it financially possible for Hussi to stay on sick leave.
– My God, if it hadn’t been possible, I’d probably be lying in that coffin, Hussi says seriously.
