She is at the very front of the long line, which starts inside the Bonte Wever in Assen and runs all the way to the end of the parking lot outside. She was there before nine o’clock in the morning. For hours, because the doors of the hall only open at just after one o’clock in the afternoon.
“His music in particular touches me enormously. He is a real party maker,” says this Jannes fan about her idol. “It doesn’t matter whether you’re just a fan or if you’re having a drink. It’s still fun, and I think that’s extremely important.”
There is a big party inside the hall. She is willing to wait four hours for that. Jannes plays old well-known songs, but also new songs from his new album “Liefde is meer”.
“A new album is always very important to me,” says Jannes. “Some years ago, nothing was possible with fan club days and presentations, due to corona. Now, three years later, it is possible again. People from all over the Netherlands have come, even from Belgium. There may be 2,000 people. The fans have been there for a long time. “We’ve been waiting for it. They live for it, I read in the comments on social media.”
