Jandino Asporaat suddenly sees the grade his chicken joint gets on Google Maps rise sharply. Did he deploy a troll army? RTL Boulevard asks him. “No, no, no,” says the comedian.
There is something strange going on with Jandino Asporaat’s chicken joint. FC Kip, as the business is called, had a 3.3 on Google Maps yesterday morning – shortly afterwards it was even a 3.2 – but after reporting about this, the figure suddenly rose to a 4 within a few hours ,2. Jandino agreed no time from 84 to 286 reviews.
Troll army?
Jeroen Kijk in de Vegte, the voice-over of RTL Boulevard, finds it very strange. “Although it turns out to be quite a challenge to get reviews, today the restaurant goes from just 3 stars to more than 4 stars within a few hours,” he says in the show section on RTL 4.
Reporter Aran Bade decides to go to the chicken joint and ask Jandino point blank. A troll army has been called in? “How is that possible? Have you asked everyone here: hey, please put a review on it?”
Jandino denies
Jandino categorically denies that. “No no no. Judeska (one of his characters, ed.) bit off himself for a moment and the reactions… People were like: yes, tell them! The negativity, right… It’s for a while. But all these happy faces are permanent.”
What does Jandino think of the massive criticism that his food is not tasty and also far too expensive? “There will certainly be people who say: ‘It’s too salty’, but that’s up to everyone. In terms of price: we really are the cheapest of them all.”
Bad reviews
According to Bridget Maasland, the bad reviews are unmissable. “Jandino’s restaurant FC Kip has only been open for two weeks and is already extremely popular, but if you take a look at the online reviews, you will see that not all of them are equally good. From ‘not fresh’ to ‘too expensive’; really everything just flies by.”
Aran decides to taste it himself. “It would be too salty, too expensive, the milkshakes too thin. We are going to test the soup.”
What is Aran’s verdict? “Nice and crunchy!” he says. While Jandino sits next to him.
