Jan Versteegh not back with Lingo after summer: ‘On the reserve bench?’

It seems that Jan Versteegh is losing his important presentation job Lingo, because the game will not return after the summer. Will he end up on the reserve bench or is there something else in the pipeline?

Jan Versteegh never really broke through as a television star. It all ripples a bit and that’s only due to one thing: it’s interchangeable. Very interchangeable. And now he also seems to lose his regular TV job Lingo. Due to the low viewing figures, it was already a bit coming, but after the summer the game is no longer in the schedules.

Lingo out

Today was schedule day again: all major TV channels have revealed their programming for the month of August. An important month, because the new TV season traditionally kicks off in the last week. And guess what? The new eve of Net5, which will start on August 28, will no longer contain Lingo and 50/50.

Tina Nijkamp, TV connoisseur and former SBS boss, writes about her popular channel: “Jan Versteegh will have a very quiet autumn, because Lingo has disappeared from Net5’s schedules. And so the quiz adventure of the women’s channel seems to be over.
50/50 and Lingo are replaced by the Australian MasterChef, always good for good viewing figures.”

What about Jan?

Tina is not surprised that they stop Lingo. “As I pointed out last March: it is simply not profitable. Too low viewing figures and not good for the image of Net5.”

The big question now is what will happen to Jan. “What is Jan Versteegh going to do? No idea.”

A little later: “According to DM messages, Jan Versteegh is recording a season of Klein Maar Fijn. In any case, still a job for Jan. But what a disappointment it has been so far, his switch from BNNVARA to SBS…”

Quiz with Balls

According to Tina, Jan had been an excellent candidate for the presentation of De Kwis met Ballen, the somewhat meaningless game show that Johnny de Mol has been presenting since last weekend. “This type of quizzes suits Winston, Rob Kemps or Jan Versteegh much better?”

And also for Lettrix, also a game show with words, Jan has passed. That new show will be presented from next Monday by Dyantha Brooks and Patrick Martens.
