Make Up Your Mind was shown last year as a one-off special with drag queen Peter R. de Vries as the big surprise. This year, the Carlo Boszhard show returned with a full five-episode run. The grand finale of this managed to captivate 1 million viewers (26% market share) on RTL 4 yesterday.

Jan as drag queen

Where Barry Atsma came out as the big winner last year, this time actor Soy Kroon went home with the win. He received the prize from Jan Slagter. “I really gave everything. It was a huge experience and what I have a lot of respect for are the makeup artists. I no longer recognized myself,” said the broadcaster.

Why Jan participated in the program? “As crazy as it may sound: when I heard that Peter R. de Vries had also done that, I thought: then I should do that too.”

Fewer viewers

The one-off special of Make Up Your Mind attracted 1.2 million viewers to RTL 4 last year; including delayed viewing, the score even reached 1.7 million viewers. This year the scores were slightly lower: on average, the five-part series attracted 974 thousand viewers per episode. The first four shows, including delayed viewing, scored an average of 1.2 million viewers.

Back to yesterday’s final evening: prior to Make Up Your Mind, Chantal Janzen managed to charm 874 thousand viewers (16%) with her program Oh Wat Een Jaar. A nice score compared to the viewing figure monster Heel Holland Bakt.

All of Holland Bakes at #1

The fourth place is for SBS 6: Code van Coppens attracted 478 thousand viewers (8%) and Impossible Duets had 392 thousand (8%).
