The people of Munich are said to have their eye on 17-year-old Rio Ngumoha. However, the transfer could still fail despite the player’s interest.
FC Bayern Munich is said to be interested in winger Rio Ngumoha from Liverpool FC. The portal “The Athletic” and the television channel “Sky” reported this unanimously. According to the television station, the people of Munich have already agreed on a change with the 17-year-old. However, there is said to be no agreement with Liverpool, which means that a change should not come about for the time being.
Ngumoha should have been planned as a replacement as a left winger behind Luis Diaz in Munich. Bayern had previously tried in vain to recruit England international Anthony Gordon for the position. The 25-year-old will move from Newcastle United to coach Hansi Flick’s FC Barcelona next season.
Contract until 2028
Ngumoha should continue to play a big role in Liverpool’s plans. The club recently parted ways with coach Arne Slot after a disappointing season. His successor is the Spaniard Andoni Iraola.
The England U19 international Ngumoha played in 19 competitive games in the Premier League last season and scored two goals. In the run-up to the upcoming World Cup, he also took part in the senior national team’s training camp in Florida. He only signed his first professional contract for Liverpool until 2028 last September.
