Jan Böhmermann and Olli Schulz spoke on Saturday (November 12) in their “Fest und Flauschig” podcast about the Bushido documentary “RESET” and joked about the rapper’s image. Böhmermann finds it very questionable how Bushido presents himself as a dear family man and then at the same time raps his lyrics into the microphone “like a 16-year-old”. The documentary has been on RTL+ since October 19. She accompanies the rapper and his family as they emigrate to Dubai.
A few minutes after the start of the podcast episode “People are bad and can’t do it better” Böhmermann and Schulz spoke about Anis Ferchichi (Bushido) and his family. Olli Schulz thinks the rapper is “grabbing at the last straw to be any public figure.” Böhmermann, on the other hand, thinks the Ferchichi family has the potential to become the “German Kardashians.” Then both say that Bushido was the one in German rap “who first worked with a family clan that obviously has criminal structures.” For them, Bushido made topics such as homophobia and misogyny socially acceptable. That he “in every[r] Doku holds his children in the camera, that’s pathetic.” They philosophize briefly about how Bushido’s family can be transferred to the Kardashian family tree and then Böhmermann says: “I can’t imagine that he’s going to bring anything credible in terms of German rap . I’m really more street than bushido now after this thing. Honestly.” Although Böhmermann admits that Bushido has probably “done more shit” than himself, Bushido is behind him when it comes to “German rap credibility”. Olli Schulz agrees and thinks Böhmermann “has definitely released the better songs”.
Rap is not unknown territory for Böhmermann, because in the past he has written songs like POL1Z1STENSOHN under the name POL1Z1STENSOHN “I have police”“Right comes (KO in KA)” and “Mayor” released.
“Reset” is not the first documentary about Bushido. In autumn 2021, the documentary “Uncensored: Bushido’s Truth” was released on Amazon Prime Video.
