Jan Biggel surprises again in the Brabant Top 100

Singer Jan Biggel from Liempde has successfully campaigned for the Brabant Top 100. His song ‘Lilluke Linda’ is the highest new entry at place 20. ‘Ha’k but never knew you’ is the biggest riser. That song shot from place 70 to number 27.

This was announced by presenter Ronny Balk this afternoon in his radio program Afslag Zuid. He also revealed the numbers 3, 4 and 5:

3. ‘Hee gaode mee’ by Gerard van Maasakkers & friends
4. ‘You can’t get that smile off my face’ by John de Bever
5. ‘This is where I feel at home’ by Gerard van Maasakkers.

Jan Biggel also on 1?
Being the highest entry and highest climber is an achievement in itself. But actually Biggel’s goal is to, with his kneiter ‘Our mother still sees’ Guus Meeuwis from the throne who has been number 1 for years with Brabant. That became clear when he opened the ballot box of the Brabant Top 100 almost two weeks ago. He was allowed to do that because he came in at 2 out of nowhere last year.

Biggel literally decided to look higher up to open that ballot box. On top of the Westpoint residential tower in Tilburg, the highest point in Brabant at 142 meters, he pressed the button and immediately campaigned to vote for him and to knock Guus out of first place.

We won’t know until Thursday whether that worked. Then the entire Brabant Top 100 will be announced and you can listen to all the beautiful music that Brabant has to offer all day long. The list will be broadcast on Omroep Brabant radio from 08:00 to 18:00. You can listen, among other things, via omroepbrabant.nl/radio.
