Hundreds of orange flags, 240 enthusiastic extras and a real orange bus. Everywhere you look it turns orange. It seems as if the World Cup in Liempde has already started on Sunday, but nothing could be further from the truth. The village is the setting for Jan Biggel’s new video clip: The Netherlands, our champion! “We turn Liempde upside down and have a lot of fun for a day.”
The extras came from far and wide to the village early in the morning to shoot the video clip. “We left a village near Utrecht at about nine o’clock this morning. That was tough for a while, but now things are going well again.”
“Everything will be all right in the end.”
The recordings last about three hours, but that doesn’t matter to the extras. The music starts again and again and then there is enthusiastic singing and dancing. It’s not surprising that things have to be done over and over again, according to Jan: “Everything goes wrong for me and doesn’t go as it should, but that’s fun. It’s about the result. In the end everything will be fine.”
Fans of Jan Biggel do need patience, because the new song will only be released from the end of October. “Then we will surprise the whole of the Netherlands with this awesome video clip.”
