The American University of Maine acquired a famous player in its ranks when James Bond signed a contract with the school team.

The 16-year-old Bond will start for the Maine Black Bears in the 2026-27 season.

The youngster who plays as a defender is also known by the nickname Ace Bond. For example, on Instagram, he uses his nickname and not his official name.

To the dismay of many, Bond does not wear the game number 007, or even 7. The number 9 is on the back of his shirt.

The University of Maine plays in the highest division of the American NCAA college series. Bond says on Instagram that he is excited about the contract.

– I want to thank my family, my coaches, my teammates and everyone who has supported my dream, wrote the puck promise.
