Jameela Jamil demands to stop using Kanye West for memes

Host and actress Jameela Jamil has called for a stop turning Kanye West’s recent antics surrounding ex-wife Kim Kardashian into memes and internet laughter, as doing so would only lead to more “drama” between the two.

Some fans of the ex-couple had criticized West’s behavior as harassment of his ex-wife. Jamil is now asking the public to stop encouraging this behavior and fueling the situation.

Since their split, West has made bizarre appearances to win his ex-wife back. He recently had a truck full of red roses sent to Kardashian for Valentine’s Day. However, she has been in a relationship with comedian Pete Davidson since October last year, which West doesn’t seem to like at all.

In several posts, West has already dished out and even threatened his ex-wife’s new boyfriend. He posted a photo of Davidson with his pants down on his Instagram account and captioned it, “You’ll never meet my kids.” In another post, Kanye even called him an “asshole.” Even in a song with rap colleague The Game, West left out about the alleged opponent.

The rapper recently shared that he apologizes for his behavior toward Kim Kardashian, which many perceived as harassing. West wrote that he understood that if he only wrote in all caps, people would think he was yelling at them. He promised to work on his communication. He also deleted his previous postings against Davidson.

Jamil pointed out West’s mental health in a separate post, asking her fans to stop adding fuel to the fire, particularly as it could have a negative impact on the couple’s four children. West was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2017. Most recently, the rapper also made headlines with his short-term relationship with actress Julia Fox, which seems to have ended after less than two months.

“We observe a mentally ill man fueled by our engagement and media attention,” Jamil wrote on Instagram. “The consequences of this could be that he is deprived of contact with his children. Learn from how we dealt with Britney Spears’ mental health issues and stop enjoying and promoting it,” she added.

It’s obvious that West is demanding attention, but that’s precisely why you shouldn’t give it to him. Jamil reiterated her plea not to turn West’s behavior into memes or jokes. Even megastars like West, when they’re clearly going through something with their mental health, should be off-limits when it comes to internet laughter, the 35-year-old continued.

The situation must be very stressful for everyone involved, but especially for Kardashian. Joking about Kanye West doesn’t help either party, Jamil said.

In the caption to her post, the actress also made it clear that she was not trying to justify or excuse West’s behavior with her post. But she knows enough about mental illness to know that public interest and the media can significantly worsen people’s conditions, leading to even more problems for everyone involved.

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian have been a couple since 2012 and married since 2014. In early 2021, Kardashian filed for divorce after seven years of marriage, the reason is said to be the rapper’s manic-depressive phases.
