Jamal Musiala soon in the Premier League?

FC Bayern is heading for its first titleless season in over a decade. That could have consequences. A star is on the list for English clubs.

As things stand, the current season is one to forget for FC Bayern. In the DFB Cup last November, the Munich team were sensationally knocked out by third division team 1. FC Saarbrücken. In the championship they are already ten points behind leaders Leverkusen. And in the Champions League, after the first leg defeat against Lazio Rome, there is a risk of elimination in the round of 16.

A change is coming in the summer. But an important building block could potentially leave the club. As the British newspaper “Sun” reports, Jamal Musiala is said to be the focus of two top English teams.

The German international has a past on the island. He played for various English U-teams before choosing the DFB team. From 2011 to 2019, Musiala was also trained at Chelsea FC’s academy.

Musiala already observed the triple winner on site

Now it should also be the Londoners who are interested in bringing the 21-year-old back if he does not sign a new contract with FC Bayern. But the report names another team from England that is said to have an eye on Musiala: Manchester City. It is said that the triple winner even sent a delegation to FC Bayern’s top game against Bayer Leverkusen in February to observe the offensive player on site.

Also interesting: The “Sun” reports that, according to various sources, Musiala could definitely imagine a move to the Premier League. The player also knows that he is in a strong negotiating position in the talks with FC Bayern because he is well aware of the interest from England.

Musiala extension has long been Bayern’s plan

Musiala has been under contract in Munich since 2020. His current working paper runs until the summer of 2026. FC Bayern had always emphasized that they wanted to extend the contract with the top talent. Musiala should become one of the faces of the new Bayern team.

“Of course we will reach for the ceiling,” said CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen last October regarding the salary in the event of a long-term extension of Musiala. And: “Jamal is a very important part of the team. He is one of the greatest talents that German football has. And who would we be if we didn’t want to retain this player permanently?”
