Jamal Musiala is one of the most important pillars of FC Bayern Munich for the coming years. But the midfielder has long been sought after across Europe. How does the 20-year-old view the discussions about his future? And what does it take for the national player to possibly stay in Munich (even) longer? Musiala has given the first answers.
Liverpool FC is said to be interested, Manchester City has put out feelers, and there were also recent reports of a courtship from Real Madrid: So does FC Bayern have to stick with Jamal Musiala so that the shooting star continues to play for the German football record champions?
“My contract runs until 2026, so everything is very relaxed,” said Musiala about his future plans to the “Münchner Abendzeitung” (Saturday edition). The midfielder added that he currently feels very comfortable with the series champions and in coach Thomas Tuchel’s team.
One reason he enjoys football with Munich: the record transfer of striker Harry Kane, who came from England from Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur for around 100 million euros before this season.
Jamal Musiala with title claim to FC Bayern
“In Harry Kane we have got an outstanding goalscorer with whom I can combine very well,” explained Musiala, who would also be happy about further upgrades.
“Our sporting management is working on extending important players and further strengthening our team,” said the 20-year-old, indicating that he was closely following the club’s squad activities.
No wonder: it is important to him that he can “win titles” in Munich, emphasized Musiala. If this is the case, a future at FC Bayern seems quite possible despite all the advances.
The biggest goal at club level for Musiala is to win the Champions League, ideally as early as 2024.
“The final this season is in London, in Wembley. It’s a very special stadium for me because I grew up in London,” said the national player, who was trained at Chelsea FC in his youth.
