The Danish cycling peak by Jakob Fuglsang home in Monaco was like a bomb trail when he returned there at the end of his practice run.
The reason was a charger left in the socket, which had exploded.
– I was shocked when I saw what had happened. I’m glad no one was home. We have two children and have just adopted a dog. It must be seen as a positive that no one was injured, Fuglsang’s wife Loulou stated to BT magazine.
Traces of the explosion were visible in the living room and kitchen, which were covered in black dust. by Loulou Fuglsang according to them, they now have to stay with friends until the home is made livable again.
For the couple, the accident came at a bad time, as they were supposed to celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary on the same day.
– It’s annoying. The plan was to go out to eat together. We needed it because we haven’t seen each other lately, the cycling star’s wife lamented.
Jakob Fuglsang, 37, currently representing the Israel–Premier Tech team, won silver in road cycling at the Rio Olympics. Among the greatest successes of the Dane’s 15-year career are also the two victories achieved in the Critérium du Dauphiné, which precedes the Tour de France, in the cycling calendar.
