‘Jaimie Vaes should have been with Johnny de Mol!’

Youp van ‘t Hek would have found it very funny if Jaimie Vaes had chosen HLF8 to talk about her relationship full of domestic violence. “That would have been exciting TV!”

Jaimie Vaes was this week in the talk show Khalid & Sophie to talk about the abusive relationship she had with Jorik Scholten, better known as Lil Kleine. Comedian Youp van ‘t Hek asks himself in his NRC column wonder how that interview would have gone if she had not chosen Khalid Kasem, but Johnny de Mol as an interlocutor.

‘Coke for pain?’

It would have resulted in unreal television, Youp thinks. “That would have been exciting television and then we as viewers could have laughed a little. Because what would he have asked her? Do you put ice on your bruises? Do you use pressure bandages? Do you always have precaution bandages in your bag? Does coke help with the pain?”

In this way, Youp mercilessly crushes Johnny, who is accused of assaulting his ex-fiancée Shima Kaes. The presenter himself swore with two fingers in the air that ‘none of it is true’, but critics think that Shima has quite a good business.

two fingers

Those two fingers of Johnny made Youp laugh a lot. “I thought Johnny’s two swearing fingers were funny because it looked like The Voice’s V. Was that useful in his case? No idea. Do I believe him?”

Youp does not give a direct answer to that, but: “I kept thinking about Hugo.”

That says enough…
