return home
Joël Zwarts leaves Jahn Regensburg in the upcoming season and joins the Dutch second division club ADO Den Haag on loan. The 23-year-old center forward is returning to his homeland, which he left for Regensburg last summer. He scored three goals in 26 games for SSV last season, but only started five of them. His contract is valid until 2024.
“We have been in intensive talks with Joël over the past few weeks and months. At this point in time, we couldn’t guarantee Joël the number of minutes he was hoping for. He had deposited a clear desire to get more guaranteed playing time again. Together we came to the conclusion that a one-year loan makes sense for both sides at this point in time. We wish Joël every success at ADO Den Haag and hope that he will return to us stronger,” said sporting director Roger Stilz.
Zwarts, who comes from Rotterdam, added: “I was able to learn a lot at SSV Jahn that year. But now I’ve come to the conclusion that getting more match practice is the right step for me. I now see the chance at ADO Den Haag and am looking forward to the season. At the same time, I will of course follow closely what is happening in Regensburg and keep my fingers crossed for a successful season for the club.”
