13 years in Regensburg
Sebastian Nachreiner ends his professional career after the current season, during which he was only active for SSV Jahn Regensburg. In the summer of 2010, the then 21-year-old moved from the regional league club FC Dingolfing to “Jahnelf”, 13 years and 267 games later the central defender’s time at SSV came to an end.
“At the age of 34 and also because of the many injuries in recent years that have left their mark, I have decided to end my career. I’ve always wanted to play as long as I enjoy and feel like I can make a difference and help the team. So now is the time. Despite a bit of melancholy, the decision feels right and good for me,” explained Nachreiner. “The SSV Jahn has definitely grown dear to my heart and it will stay that way forever. I am very proud of this successful time here, which I was able to help shape with all of my companions.”

Sports director Tobias Werner added: “With Wastl Nachreiner, we are saying goodbye to a very important identification figure of the club. Hardly any other player has shaped SSV Jahn so much on and off the field in the past decade. He always gave his all for SSV Jahn and always stood by the club even in difficult times. With his personality and manner, he exemplified the values of SSV Jahn like no other. With his performances on the pitch, he was an absolute constant in the Jahn defense for years. In addition, he was always an integral part of the team council and an important contact person for those responsible.”
