Regensburg with chances overexploitation
Regensburg remained the more dangerous team, but missed too many chances, not just the penalty missed by Besuschkow, and made the opponents strong. After the break, Kiel lost their restraint and scored their second goal thanks to a penalty kick from Regensburg: Benedikt Gimber brought down Kiel’s Finn Porath completely unnecessarily on the edge of the penalty area – Mühling converted the penalty kick safely.
The lead then played into the cards for the Kielers. The guests were always dangerous when counterattacking. Against a Regensburg team who increased the pressure and pushed for an equaliser, but continued to be sloppy with their chances.
