According to consistent media reports, Borussia Dortmund is close to signing Jadon Sancho. Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag does not yet want to confirm his BVB return.
“I can’t say anything about that. We have to wait and see how things develop. If we have news, we will share it,” said the 53-year-old Dutchman at a press conference on Thursday.
According to reports, BVB and United have agreed on a six-month loan for Sancho. The guest appearance of the “prodigal son” is expected to cost Dortmund three million euros, including the loan fee and salary. It is unclear whether BVB will also secure a purchase option for Sancho.
“Bild” wrote that the offensive player was expected at the black and yellow training camp in Marbella, Spain, on Friday.
The 23-year-old Englishman had a falling out with ten Hag last late summer. Since then, Sancho has been suspended from the English record champions’ professional team and is keeping fit in the youth department.
BVB: Emre Can would be “extremely happy” about Sancho’s return
Captain Emre Can was the first BVB professional to comment on the rumors about Sancho’s return on Thursday. “I would be extremely happy about it because I think a lot of Jadon,” said the national player to “Sky”. “If he comes, he will help us.”
Sancho is “a difference player, 100 percent,” Can raved about his former teammate. “He’s always good for a goal or an assist. He has extreme talent.”
However, Can was unable to provide a water level report on the status of the negotiations. “I don’t know how far it is, whether he’ll come or not, but it would definitely be nice,” the BVB captain made clear.
