Jadon Sancho landed in Dortmund

The transfer of Jadon Sancho from Manchester United to Borussia Dortmund is imminent.

The “Ruhr Nachrichten” published a video on Wednesday evening showing the arrival of the plane in which the Englishman is said to be sitting.

According to the paper, Sancho will be picked up directly from the tarmac by BVB employees. The medical check is scheduled to take place on Thursday. “Sky” also reports this.

The winger is on loan from Manchester United until the end of the season. According to Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Dortmund did not secure a purchase option.

There have recently been different reports about the costs of the deal. According to Romano, BVB is paying a total of four to 3.5 million euros instead of the previously reported three to 3.5 million euros for the six-month loan deal.

According to “Bild”, Sancho is giving up a lot of money for his second guest appearance in black and yellow. The 23-year-old is expected to earn a whopping 2.5 million euros less for his six-month loan to BVB than he would if he stayed in Manchester.

Sancho already played in Dortmund from 2017 to 2021. With BVB he won the DFB Cup in 2021, scoring a total of 50 goals and 64 assists. He then moved to Manchester United in the English Premier League for 85 million euros. Lately he was becoming increasingly unhappy there.

Sancho left out at Man United

Sancho has been suspended from the English record champions since a falling out with coach Erik ten Hag. The offensive player is no longer even allowed to use the training facilities of the professionals. Instead, he stays fit in the Red Devils’ youth team.

The negotiations surrounding the Sancho transfer had dragged on for a long time. “I’m cautiously optimistic. We want to bring him over, but we’re not ready to announce results yet,” BVB boss Hans-Joachim Watzke said on Monday.
