The 50-year-old actress spends in the new episode of her online program Red Table Talk attention to the hair disease. “Because people know what I’ve been through with my health and after what happened at the Oscars, thousands have shared their stories with me,” Pinkett Smith said in Wednesday’s episode. “I want to give my ‘alopecia family’ the opportunity to talk about what it means to have this condition and explain what alopecia is.”

In the episode, she also briefly responds to the Oscar incident. “I have great hopes that these two intelligent and capable men will have the chance to come to their senses, talk it out and reconcile,” said the actress. “We need them both at this time. We need each other more than ever.”

Smith, who terminated his membership at The Academy after the blow and was subsequently suspended by the Oscar organization, apologized the day after the incident. “All forms of violence are poisonous and destructive. My behavior at the Oscars last night was unacceptable and unforgivable.”
