Jacquemus becomes a cooperation partner of Nike

Nike and the French fashion house Jacquemus are launching a joint collection.

The collaboration celebrates the “multidimensionality of contemporary athletes,” the US sportswear company said on Monday. Simon Porte Jacquemus, the designer and founder behind the fashion label, creates a women’s collection for Nike that reinterprets sportswear in a minimal form.

Outdoor activities and ‘court sports’ come together and will be launched as clothing and shoe collections in late summer. So far, however, there has not been a deeper insight into what these collections will look like. All that is clear is that Jacquemus took inspiration from Nike’s ’90s campaigns and channeled this source into “sporty women’s clothing with sensual details and neutral colors” that is “accessible to every body” and “a natural blend of Jacquemus and represents style and Nike performance,” says the designer. It is also known that the shoe model ‘Humara’ – Jacquemus’ favorite Nike model – is part of the collaboration.

“When we work together at Nike, it’s always a 50:50 connection, with each partner advancing the other in ways that would not have been possible on their own,” said Jarrett Reynolds, Nike VP of Catalyst Apparel Design. “At Jacquemus, we took inspiration from the legacy ACG collection and weaved Nike Dri-FIT material into shoes like the Humara to create a fusion of sport and style only possible through the shared Nike x Jacquemus lens was.”

Nike x Jacquemus will be released exclusively on jacquemus.com on June 28th and will be available at Nike this summer.
